Dr. Richard Pratley serves as Samuel E. Crockett Chair in Diabetes Research, Senior Investigator and Diabetes Program Lead at the AdventHealth Translational Research Institute, and Medical Director at the AdventHealth Diabetes Institute, in Orlando, Florida. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Medicine with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. Pratley is an internationally recognized expert in diabetes and is board certified in internal medicine. He received his MD from Wayne State University in Detroit and completed fellowships in geriatric medicine and gerontology at the University of Michigan, Johns Hopkins University, and the National Institute on Aging.
He is on the editorial board for Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, has served as a member of the editorial boards of Diabetes Care, The Lancet: Diabetes and Endocrinology, The Journal of Diabetes and its Complications and The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, and acts as an ad hoc reviewer for many other journals. Dr. Pratley regularly presents at national and international meetings, has conducted numerous research studies on the pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of diabetes, and has published over 280 peer-reviewed articles on diabetes and its complications.
Alice Y.Y. Cheng MD, FRCPC
Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Trillium Health Partners, and Unity Health Toronto
Dr. Cheng is an Endocrinologist at Trillium Health Partners and Unity Health Toronto and an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto.
She has been involved with the development of the Diabetes Canada clinical practice guidelines since 2003 and served as Chair for the 2013 version. Currently, she is the Chair of the Professional Section of Diabetes Canada and an Associate Editor for the Canadian Journal of Diabetes.
In recognition of her contribution, she has received the national Charles H. Best Award and the Gerald S. Wong Service Award from Diabetes Canada.
She is also the creator of The Med Ed Pledge – an initiative to increase Diversity & Inclusion in continuing medical education (www.theMedEdPledge.com)

Esteban Jódar Gimeno MD, PhD

Esteban Jódar Gimeno is Head of the Endocrinology Department at University Hospitals Quiron Salud Madrid (attending three hospitals: Pozuelo, San José and Ruber Juan Bravo/San Camilo). At present, he is Full Professor of Endocrinology at the European University of Madrid.
He has served as coordinator of the Working Group on Osteoporosis of the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and served as vice-president of the Regional Society of Endocrinology and in the Board of the Spanish Society of Bone and Mineral Research (SEIOMM). He is currently a member of the Rare Bone Diseases and Covid19 group (European Society of Endocrinology).
He is the author of more than 200 articles in different Journals -more than 100 in international peer-reviewed Journals- more than 50 chapters in different books and more than 200 abstracts. He has been included in the “top 100” physicians in the Spanish Forbes Ranking in the last 4 years.
He has been investigator since 1995 in the clinical development of drugs for metabolic diseases including osteoporosis, hyperlipidaemia, hypertension, obesity and mainly in diabetes with important contributions in the field of GLP-1 receptor agonists, SGLT2 inhibitors and new insulins.
