In this interview, Professor Tina Vilsbøll shares her clinical perspective on the draft ADA/EASD Consensus Report 2026, following its release for public comment at ADA 2026 and ahead of the final report at EASD 2026. She reflects on the growing role of GLP-1–based therapy, the shift from glucose-focused care to a broader view of the whole patient, and the increasing focus on comorbidities including cardiovascular, kidney and liver disease.
