Abdulmoein Eid Al-Agha

Professor of Pediatrics & Pediatric Endocrinology, King Abdul Aziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Abdulmoein Al Agha is a Professor of Pediatrics & Pediatric Endocrinology at King Abdul Aziz University. He received his Fellowship certificate in Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes from Sydney, Australia. Fellowship of the Royal College of Physician (Edinburg, and graduated King Abdul Aziz University Medical School, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.Hehas many present and past academic and administrative positions including; MRCPCH Overseas examiner and host as well supervisor for Saudi Board Pediatric residency training for western Region since 2011. He is a coordinator, Pediatric Club Western Region. He was the chairman of Reproductive Modules ""New Faculty Curriculum"". He was acting Chairman, of Pediatric, KAUH. He is as well, a visiting Professor, Ibn-SinaMedical School. He has been invited to be an external examiner in the United Kingdom (London) and for many of Gulf and Arab countries; including Bahrain, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Egypt for Pediatric under and post graduates as well for Endocrine examinations. He has been invited as speaker for many of local educational programs and conferences as well Gulf, Arab and international conferences. He developed interest in medical education and he had Certificate of medical education-university of Illinois, Chicago, USA. In research he has published more than 115 publications in refereed journals and orally presented more than 140 presentations in international meetings. He has also authored an English textbook of Pediatric Endocrinology and diabetes textbook, and 10 Arabic books. Finally, he is a member of many of Pediatric and Endocrine local and international societies.

Prof. Bradley Miller

University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA

Dr. Miller completed his Pediatric residency (2000) and Pediatric Endocrinology fellowship (2003) at the Mayo Clinic. He is a Professor in Pediatric Endocrinology, and has been a member of the division since 2003. Dr. Miller has an interest in the role of the growth hormone (GH)/insulin-like growth factor (IGF) system in normal and abnormal growth in children. Additionally, he is interested in the growth and development of children following adversity including cancer and its therapies, fetal alcohol exposure, and international adoption. Dr. Miller is also interested in the endocrine aspects of abnormal glycosylation in children with Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation. Lastly, Dr. Miller is also interested in Achondroplasia and other skeletal dysplasia conditions.

Prof. Lars Sävendahl

Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden

Longitudinal bone growth takes place in the growth plate which is a layer of cartilage in each end of most bones in the body. Lars Sävendahl and his team have developed new research models and have thereby managed to show how growth regulation takes place at the cellular level. The results have led to the forthcoming introduction of new treatment principles of different growth disorders. Dr Reiko Horikawa

National Centre for Child Health and Development, Tokyo, Japan

Dr Horikawa, a paediatric endocrinologist, is the Director of the Endocrinology and Metabolism Division of the Japanese National Centre for Child Health and Development (NCCHD) and has been with the NCCHD since 2002. She is the author of over 300 original, peer-reviewed endocrinology articles (174 English/152 Japanese) and has contributed to 43 book publications. Dr Horikawa earned her M.D. from Tohoku University and completed her residency in paediatric endocrinology at the National Children’s Hospital, Tokyo, Japan. After her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Virginia Health Sciences, she returned back as Faculty at the National Children’s Hospital, Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism. She has served in executive board member positions in several important national and international professional society groups such as Japan Endocrine Society, Asia Pacific Endocrine Society and Growth Hormone Research Society (GRS). She continues to be active in her editorial work and research interests (growth, sex development, and maturation, neuroendocrinology (hypothalamus-pituitary axis), adrenal disorders). In 2016, Dr Horikawa was awarded the Japanese Society of Pediatric Endocrinology Kenji Fujieda award
